Contact YOMO as soon as possible. We’ll assess the issue and offer a suitable solution. For minor faults, we can often send replacement parts quickly.

How to make a claim

Send your proof of purchase, frame number, a clear description of the issue and clear photographs. A short video helps where movement or noise is involved. If the claim is valid, we will repair or replace the relevant part at our discretion.

What is not covered

Normal wear and tear or fatigue damage. Damage from crashes, misuse, neglect, poor maintenance, improper assembly, unauthorised modifications or use outside the bike’s intended purpose. Tyres, brake pads, cables and other normal service items that require replacement or adjustment. Cosmetic damage that does not affect function.

Important

The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable. It is provided in addition to your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.

Registering within 30 days of purchase extends eligible frame and fork cover from 3 years to Lifetime for the original purchaser.

  • You will need your order details and the bike’s frame number.
  • The frame number is stamped underneath the bottom bracket, where the pedals connect to the frame.
  • Cover is not transferable to a later owner.

You’ll find the frame number stamped underneath the bottom bracket, where the pedals connect to the frame. It’s a good idea to note it down or take a photo in case you ever need it.

Follow the assembly guide

Place the bike on a clean, flat surface and follow the model-specific steps for the front wheel, handlebar and pedals.

Before the first ride

Always complete the final safety checks and follow the assembly instructions supplied with the bike.

Installing the pedals correctly is important for safety and smooth riding.

  • Look for an R (right) and an L (left) marked on the pedals.
  • Right side is the side with the chain. Left side has no chain.
  • Right pedal: screw it clockwise into the crank arm by hand.
  • Left pedal: screw it anti-clockwise into the crank arm by hand.
  • Once both are snug, tighten gently with the YOMO 15 mm spanner.

Never force a pedal that feels tight straight away — back it out and restart the thread.

All YOMO bikes use quick-release seatpost clamps, so saddle height adjustments are tool-free.

  • Learner fit — ideal for first-time riders. Both heels rest flat on the ground while seated.
  • Pedaller fit — best for confident riders. The toes of both feet touch the ground while seated.

For longer rides, a slightly higher saddle improves efficiency. For tricks or off-road riding, a lower saddle gives more control with extra knee bend.

The YOMO All-In-One toolkit is included in the small box, along with the manual, bell and pedals. It covers the normal final assembly steps for your model.

Use the Size Finder for a recommendation based on the rider’s height and inside leg.

Also consider confidence and previous riding experience. The best size is the bike the child can control confidently now, not simply the largest bike they can reach.

Maximum total load includes the rider and any luggage.

  • YOMO 12 — 30 kg
  • YOMO 14 — 40 kg
  • YOMO 16 — 50 kg
  • YOMO 18 — 55 kg
  • YOMO 20 — 65 kg
  • YOMO 24 — 75 kg
  • YOMO 26 — 90 kg

Measure your child’s head just above the eyebrows with a soft measuring tape.

  • YOMO Helmet (XS): 46–50 cm
  • YOMO Helmet (S): 50–53 cm
  • YOMO Helmet (M): 53–56 cm

The helmet should sit low on the forehead, fit snugly, and not move side to side.

Please check the size carefully before ordering. A helmet ordered in the wrong size can be exchanged, but return postage and redelivery are not covered.

When a free YOMO helmet is included with a bike, the helmet has to be chosen as part of the same order. Here is how it works and what to check first.

  • The helmet must be selected and added to your basket at the same time as the bike. It cannot be added to an order afterwards.
  • Check the helmet size before ordering, using the head measurement rather than the child's age.
  • Free returns and free delivery do not apply to a helmet ordered in the wrong size.
  • We will exchange a wrong-sized helmet if it is unused and in its original packaging. You cover the return postage and the cost of sending the replacement.
  • A helmet that has been worn outdoors, damaged or involved in any impact cannot be exchanged, for safety reasons.

Measure before you order. Head sizes vary a lot at the same age, and a helmet that does not sit level and snug will not protect properly. The measuring guide takes about a minute.

YOMO 14 and YOMO 16 are compatible with universal stabilisers.

We don’t sell them directly, and we recommend developing balance naturally. If you do use them, make sure they are fitted securely and checked regularly.

Kickstands are convenient for parking, especially for older riders. They do add a little weight and can catch on obstacles during off-road riding.

YOMO bikes don’t come with a kickstand fitted, but a universal one can be used if you want it.

The authoritative range is printed on the tyre sidewall. Set the pressure within that range based on your child’s weight and the terrain.

  • YOMO 12 — max 35 psi
  • YOMO 14 / 16 / 18 — 35–50 psi
  • YOMO 20 / 24 / 26 — 40–65 psi

Softer pressure gives more grip and comfort. Harder pressure rolls faster on smooth surfaces.

You can adjust the lever angle for a more comfortable hand position using the tools supplied.

  • Find the brake lever pinch bolt, located underneath the lever.
  • Loosen it with the 5 mm hex key from the YOMO All-In-One kit.
  • Set the lever to the preferred angle.
  • Tighten the pinch bolt with the same hex key.

Check brake performance afterwards. Confirm the levers fully engage the brakes before riding.

This usually means the brake arms are not centred. You can adjust the spring tension on each arm with the screwdriver from the YOMO All-In-One toolset.

  • Spin the wheel and check which pad rubs against the rim.
  • Find the small screw on the side of the brake arm, just above where the arm pivots.
  • Tighten (clockwise) the screw on the side that is rubbing. This increases spring tension and pulls that arm away from the rim.
  • If needed, loosen (anti-clockwise) the opposite side slightly when that pad has too much gap.
  • Adjust until the gap between pads and rim is even, then spin to test.

Tip: if the cable is too tight, release some tension at the barrel adjuster or cable clamp.

Use the barrel adjuster near the shifter to fine-tune the cable tension.

  • Turning it outwards slightly tightens the cable and helps eliminate chain skipping.
  • Turning it inwards slightly loosens the tension if needed.

For major adjustments, we recommend a tune-up at your local bike shop.

Start by explaining how lower numbers make pedalling easier and higher numbers make it harder.

  • Practise shifting while riding on flat ground.
  • Encourage them to shift before climbing hills.
  • Avoid shifting under heavy load.

We recommend a basic check every month:

  • Inspect the brakes.
  • Check tyre pressure.
  • Lubricate the chain.
  • Check key bolts are secure and tighten to the specified torque if needed.

A full tune-up once a year at a bike shop keeps everything running smoothly, especially if your child rides regularly.

Stop riding immediately. Do not keep tightening a pedal that feels cross-threaded.

  • Check the left and right pedals are on the correct sides.
  • Back the pedal out fully and restart the thread by hand.
  • If the thread is damaged or you are unsure, contact YOMO or a qualified bike shop.

Stop riding until the cause is checked. A loose headset, stem or handlebar affects steering safety.

If you are not confident diagnosing it, ask a qualified bike shop to inspect the bike before it is ridden again.

BikeTrade lets you return an outgrown YOMO for credit towards the next size.

  • Designed for YOMO bikes traded in within 24 months of the original purchase date.
  • The bike should be complete, structurally sound and in good condition with normal wear and tear.
  • The calculator gives an estimate. Final credit is confirmed after inspection.
  • Where possible, return the old YOMO in the box from the new bike.

Look at saddle extension, knee room, handlebar space and overall control rather than age alone.

When the bike is clearly limiting comfort or movement, check the next size and BikeTrade eligibility.

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a tracking email. Check your spam or promotions folder if it is not visible. If the tracking has not updated for an unusual length of time, contact YOMO with the order number.

Take clear photographs of the carton and the affected area before discarding any packaging. Contact YOMO as soon as possible with your order number and the images. We will assess the issue and arrange the clearest solution.

Contact YOMO as quickly as possible. Once an order has entered the dispatch process, changing the address may no longer be possible.

Use the YOMO Perfect Size Finder and consider height, inside leg, confidence and previous riding experience. The best size is the bike the child can control confidently now, not simply the largest bike they can reach.

Choose based on confidence and control. A cautious or first-time rider usually benefits from the smaller option. A confident rider may suit the larger option when the minimum saddle height and reach are genuinely comfortable.

Prioritise easy control, a low stable position and a size the child can handle without stretching. The biggest bike they can touch is not automatically the best first pedal bike.

On pedal-bike models, the pedals can be removed when appropriate. This can help some children practise balance first, provided the bike is the correct size and the cranks are kept clear of the ground.

Accessory compatibility varies by model and size. Check the individual product page or search the Help Centre for the specific accessory before ordering.

Stop using the bike and contact YOMO as soon as possible. Return options depend on whether the bike has been ridden and its condition. We can also help confirm the next size before you reorder.

No. Keep the packaging and contact YOMO first. Delivery damage should be assessed before the bike is sent anywhere so the correct remedy and collection route can be arranged.

Refund timing depends on the returned item being received and checked. Bank processing time can then vary. The return confirmation will explain the next step.

For a change-of-mind return, original packaging is important because it protects the bike in transit and helps keep it in saleable condition. If the box is missing or damaged, contact YOMO first. A replacement box may be arranged and a charge may apply.

Every new YOMO includes a 3-year frame and fork warranty. Register the bike within 30 days of purchase to extend eligible frame and fork cover to lifetime for the original purchaser. Eligible components are covered for 1 year against manufacturing faults. The warranty is not transferable.

Contact the retailer first because they are your point of purchase and can inspect the bike locally. YOMO can support the process when the retailer needs technical or warranty assistance.

Contact YOMO with the model, wheel size, colour, approximate purchase date and the part you need. Photos are helpful for identifying the correct component.

Look at saddle extension, knee room, handlebar space and overall control rather than age alone. When the bike is clearly limiting comfort or movement, check the next size and BikeTrade eligibility.

BikeTrade is YOMO’s route for eligible families moving from an outgrown YOMO to the next size. Check the current BikeTrade page for eligibility, condition requirements and the latest process.

Check tyre pressure, brake operation, wheel security, handlebar alignment and saddle height before the first ride after assembly.

Match each pedal to the correct crank before threading it by hand. Stop if it does not turn in smoothly. Forcing the wrong pedal can damage the crank thread.

The tools needed for the normal final assembly steps are included with the bike. The exact final steps vary by model.

Stop riding immediately. Do not continue tightening a pedal that feels cross-threaded. Check that the left and right pedals are on the correct sides, then contact YOMO or a qualified bike shop if the thread is damaged or uncertain.

Use the pressure range shown on the tyre sidewall and adjust within that range for rider weight and surface. The tyre marking is the final reference.

Stop riding until the cause is checked. A loose headset, stem or handlebar can affect steering safety. Use the relevant guide or ask a qualified bike shop to inspect it if you are unsure.

Check whether the chain is correctly seated, whether the gears are indexed and whether there is visible damage. Repeated chain loss can indicate an adjustment issue that should be corrected before further riding.

Stop and inspect the wheel seating, axle security and rim alignment before riding. If the wheel is visibly out of true or a spoke is loose, have it checked by a qualified bike shop.

Maximum total load includes the rider and any luggage: YOMO 12: 30 kg; YOMO 14: 40 kg; YOMO 16: 50 kg; YOMO 20: 65 kg; YOMO 24: 75 kg; YOMO 26: 90 kg.

Measure around the head just above the eyebrows. YOMO helmet sizes are XS: 46–50 cm, S: 50–53 cm and M: 53–56 cm. The helmet should sit level, feel snug and not move side to side.

YOMO 14 and YOMO 16 are compatible with suitable universal stabilisers. We generally recommend developing balance naturally where possible, but if stabilisers are used they must be fitted securely and checked regularly.

For a learner fit, both heels should rest flat on the ground while seated. For a confident pedaller fit, the toes of both feet should touch the ground. The right setup depends on confidence and the type of riding.

Yes. Loosen the brake-lever clamp bolt slightly, rotate the lever to a comfortable position, then tighten it securely. After any adjustment, check that the brake operates fully before riding.

Start on flat ground. Explain that easier gears help with starts and hills, while harder gears suit faster riding. Encourage shifting before a climb and avoid changing gear while pushing very hard on the pedals.

Once a month, check the brakes, tyre pressure, chain condition and key bolts. Keep the bike clean and lubricate the chain when needed. A yearly professional check is a good idea for bikes ridden regularly.

The serial number is stamped underneath the bottom bracket area, where the crank and pedals connect to the frame. Take a clear photo and keep it with your purchase information.

Items ordered with a bike may travel with the bike or as part of the same fulfilment process. Items sent separately will have their own dispatch confirmation or tracking information where available.

YOMO currently offers website delivery to mainland UK and Northern Ireland. The delivery options and charges shown at checkout depend on the destination.

A kickstand is convenient for everyday parking, particularly for older riders. The trade-off is a little extra weight, and a stand can catch on obstacles during more adventurous off-road riding. Check compatibility with the specific YOMO model before fitting one.
