Measuring the head
- 1
Measure around the head about 2 cm above the eyebrows, keeping the tape level.
- 2
Use a soft tape measure. A piece of string measured against a ruler works just as well.
- 3
Match the measurement to a size below. If it falls between two sizes, take the larger one and use the fit pads.
- 4
Check the fit: the helmet sits level and low on the forehead, and does not rock side to side.

What a correct fit looks like

Take the larger size and use the fit pads. A helmet should sit level, low on the forehead, and should not rock when the head moves.

Why YOMO 12 rides better
Proof-led details that help children ride with less effort, easier control and more confidence from the first push.
Looks can create the first smile. The right fit brings them back tomorrow.
Light weight, child-specific fit and easy control help confidence grow into more rides and a lasting love of cycling.
Lightweight build
At 3.6 kg, YOMO 12 keeps the ride manageable so your child can focus on confidence, not fighting the bike.
Scaled for children
From grips and levers to cockpit sizing, the details are chosen so the bike feels natural rather than oversized.
Glide-ready footrest
The integrated footrest supports the balance-bike stage properly, helping children build the movement pattern before pedals.
Controlled steering
The safety headset limits over-rotation, reducing sudden handlebar twists during early riding.
Sealed bearing hubs
Sealed bearing hubs help the wheels roll smoothly and keep maintenance low, with child-friendly hardware details.
Child-specific saddle
The saddle is chosen for children’s proportions so longer rides stay comfortable and confidence lasts beyond the first few minutes.
Rust-resistant details
Stainless spokes and rust-conscious hardware help the bike stay smarter for longer, especially through British weather.

What size child does this model suit?+
YOMO 12 is designed for riders aged approximately 18 months–3 years, with an inside leg of 32–42 cm and rider height of 83–109 cm. Age starts the search; inside leg confirms the fit.
How much assembly is needed?+
YOMO 12 arrives 99% assembled, with the front wheel already fitted. Remove the packaging on a clean, flat surface, check every component is secure and follow the included setup guide before riding.
How do I set the saddle height?+
Set the saddle so both feet rest flat on the ground with a slight bend in the knees. Raise it gradually as confidence grows, while keeping both feet able to reach the ground safely.
How do I adjust the brake lever position?+
Loosen the lever clamp bolt slightly, rotate the lever to a comfortable angle for the rider hand, retighten it securely and confirm the rear brake engages fully before riding.
What if the brake rubs?+
Check that the wheel is seated correctly and the brake pads sit evenly beside the rim. Use the brake-arm spring-tension screws only as shown in the setup guide, then confirm the wheel spins freely and the brake stops the bike securely.
How often should I service it?+
Check tyre pressure, brake operation, wheel security, steering and bolt tightness regularly. Arrange a yearly safety check by a qualified bike mechanic if the bike is ridden frequently.
Where is the serial number?+
The serial number is stamped on the underside of the frame. Take a clear photo after purchase for registration, warranty and support.
What is the maximum rider weight?+
The maximum total load for this model is 30 kg, including the rider and anything they carry. Staying within it keeps the frame, wheels and components working as designed.
What tyre pressure should I use?+
Use the permitted pressure range printed on the tyre sidewall. For a lighter rider, start in the lower part of that range and adjust for grip and comfort. Never exceed the maximum shown on the tyre.
What happens when my child outgrows it?+
YOMO BikeTrade lets you trade in an eligible YOMO towards the next size. The calculator gives an estimate; final credit is confirmed after inspection and depends on age, condition and the current programme terms.
What is the warranty?+
YOMO bikes include a 3-year frame and fork warranty as standard. Eligible bikes registered within 30 days receive lifetime frame and fork cover for the original purchaser. Other components are covered for 1 year against manufacturing faults. Normal wear, crashes, misuse, poor maintenance, incorrect assembly, modifications, improper repairs and cosmetic marks from use are not covered.
Can I return it if it is not right?+
Unused bikes can be returned within 30 days in their original condition, packaging and with all accessories included. Contact YOMO before returning the bike; collection costs may apply to unwanted returns.
